A New Record! (0.7.0)
Hey everyone!
Today's update brings us up to version 0.7, and a lot of work went into it under the hood. There's unfortunately no new story content this time around, but I think it's important to do these "housekeeping" updates every once in a while - especially after finishing another major route!
Patch Notes
All those small improvements really added up, as I'm happy to announce these are the lengthiest patch notes we've ever had until now!
- New title screen!
- 1k new words. (245,000+ in total)
- 2 new CGs!
- A new alternate sprite for Sed & redrew his original one!
- Added an Update Log to the main menu!
- Enhanced the look and feel of escape room minigames!
- A new cheat for Cooler Insiders: Unseen CG Tracker!
- A new cheat for Cooler Insiders: Flowchart Filter! (This filter learns as you play, so you will have to revisit old nodes for the feature to work properly.)
- Added images to all achievements.
- Added more use cases for the Puzzle Solver in the break room and the arcade.
- Added a limited quick menu to post-credits sequences & enabled skipping.
- Added chibis to the Profiles screen.
- Added a "Controller Icons" Setting.
- Added Playstation Controller Icons.
- Controller icons dynamically adapt to your text size setting.
- Added achievements for Loye's route.
- Added missing content warnings to the Loye route.
- Further greyed out locked choices.
- Edited Maesol's face in a certain CG.
- Added the ability to view the credits from the About screen.
- Added a hover effect to the Affection Tracker.
- Minor improvements to the bedroom escape room.
- Added vote counts to a scene in Effera's route.
- Made it more obvious where the Beta starts and the Demo ends.
- Added visual feedback when combining items fails.
- Replaced some escape room items with pixels instead of vague blocks.
- Added the old title screen to the bonus shop.
- Added a new ripple transition during certain moments.
- The game no longer autosaves when using the Flowchart.
- The text settings preview now also takes auto speed into account.
- The text settings preview now also takes speech pauses into account.
- Removed the beating heart animation when affection is full.
- Removed bisexual lighting from a flashback.
- Removed an achievement.
- Made a certain sound effect less loud.
- Added a "Saved"/bookmarked items feature to the Elevator Rush minigame.
- Vastly expanded the capabilities of the Elevator Rush example mod.
- Fixed getting Absen's affection in the cells.
- Fixed Ashor getting an affection point he didn't deserve.
- Fixed the maximum amount of pages in the Flowchart page view.
- Fixed a bug in the bedroom escape room.
- Fixed a crash when jumping to a certain flowchart node.
- Fixed minor visual errors.
- Fixed typos.
As a special showcase, here are Sed's new sprites! Our boy got a bit beefier:
Up Next
As promised, next month, the Beta will be getting new story content again! Without spoiling too much, you'll finally see something that has been teased and hinted at since the very first version of the demo. I'd say "I hope you're looking forward to it", but you probably shouldn't be. Oops! :)
Aside from that, the anticipated schedule for the next few months looks as follows:
Meaning I've got a bunch of exciting new things lined up for you - even during September, where there will be another small "update gap".
